Robots in Hotels

According to the ALIS Conference, which was held in January in Los Angeles, the use of robots to perform tasks such as room service and cleaning rooms will be something common in the hotel industry in approximately 5 years. It might seem hard to believe, but the world’s first hotel in which all staff is made by robots opened already 3 years ago in Japan (Henn Na Hotel). Robots who perform as receptionist or concierge or robots who bring your luggage could make your stay more unique. The trend has arrived also to Silicon Valley, with the California based company Savioke testing the robot Botlr. However, to which extent will be able the robots to substitute the human touch? We will have to wait and see…

In the meantime, this video might give you an overview of how the hotel could be in a few years.
